Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it Al who sent them into harms way to begin with instead of going himself?

These foreign despots use lackeys like Clinton and Jackson to embarrass the U.S. by making it look like these clowns are capable of negotiating the release of hostages when our real diplomats aren't up to the task?  Ever notice they're always Democrats, too?

Bunches of Americans are worshipping Slick Willie tonight for being used by Il Jong Kim to make the U.S. look impotent.  I'll bet Hillary is busting at the seams with pride over her man, too!

To paraphrase an opinion piece I read somewhere today, "Bill Clinton demonstrated what diplomacy is all about".  Indeed he did.

Just read the heat he's taking from within this forum alone for what he did here. It exemplifies the level to which American diplomacy has declined within the global community, and there are precious few willing to risk the fierce gauntlet of Monday morning quarterbacks the media itself makes those who oppose such efforts.

Lost amongst the flotsam of sour grapes and wrath is the fact that 2 women that were unjustly incarcerated are today free and back with their families because Mr. Clinton stepped up to the plate and did what no one else was willing or able to do; humble himself before our enemy in order to save two innocent American lives.

Sure, there were a lot of things going on behind the scenes that helped make this happen but it is Clinton that will be remembered, for better or worse depending upon your political perspectives, because of his willingness to endure what will follow.

Clinton also reopened the doors to diplomatic progress slammed shut by GW Bush when he effectively sucker punched North Korea with his "evil empire" statement (s) as he sat alongside that country's leader shortly after the reins were turned over to Bush by Mr. Clinton.

At that juncture Mr Clinton had almost closed the deal, and all that was necessary was a little diplomatic follow through from the Bush administration. . . Instead Bush chose to swing the tire iron and the world has seen nothing but bravado from them since; until now.

I highly doubt that Mr Gore had personally ordered these two women to North Korea's border himself, but if you have some support to validate this claim I am open to that possibility. That being said, as the owner of the company it is certainly incumbent upon him to personally welcome these two women home, and to somehow find a way to make it up to them if possible.

I am certainly not a supporter of Bill Clinton but rather, I considered myself strongly opposed to him during his administration. At minimum I would consider myself a critic of him and his presidency and even that is probably putting things mildly. However, whatever negative motivations that may or may not have been behind his going to North Korea I would strongly argue that the end results far outweigh them; the return of these two women to freedom. I didn't see peanut boy or either of the shrubs stepping up to the plate,  or anyone else for that matter.

it don"t matter to me is he is a lackey or not. it don't matter to me what party he is from. bottom line he got the job done and 2 women were saved. i think that is a good job.

While I am glad that the two women are back home with their families - I do have a problem with the U.S. government paying "kidnappers" ransom.

Also, those two women probably should not have crossed into North Korea w/out first having permission from the North Koreans to do so, crossing the United States borders illegally might be no big deal, but there are many countries who take that sort of thing seriously.

So I am not so sure they should be refered to as "innocent".

I am sorry for the women, but I blame Al Gore.  He should pay for this whole thing.  I think it was a publicity stunt for Current TV gone BAD.

This is not the first time that this TV station has done things to get people in trouble and I don't think it will be the last time.  There have been segments "Pod Cast" of North Korea.

My personal take is Al Gore wants to get the public in an up roar over this.  I think this is wrong and Al Gore is messing with things outside of this country and when thinks don't go his way then he has to have others clean up the mess.  Who pays?  Al Gore should cover the tab in my opinion.

Maybe US should have just swapped Al Gore for the 2 women.

LMAO!  The naivete of many American citizens when it comes to 'dog and pony' shows like Slick Willie 'arranging' the release of these young ladies is laughable.  But those of you who bought this tripe keep at it.  It makes you feel warm and fuzzie and that's all that matters.
