Yah know, even most animals know enough not to poop where they eat. You would think the higher life forms would get that, but apparently we don't. . . Or perhaps it is because increasingly each one of us spends more time at work than we do at home; so much so that our work becomes our lives. . . Sad really. . .

I've seen enough workplace violence to due at least 20 of us for a lifetime. I shudder to think what it would have been had they been armed. . .

Palehorse,

I am having difficulty following you.

Either you're a strong advocate for civilians carrying private firearms or you're a strong advocate of prohibiting civilians from carrying private firearms at the workplace, you cannot have it both ways.

It wouldn't make me feel safer to work at a facility like that, when it also allowed people to conceal carry.  I would feel less safe.  A person  shouldn't have to worry about that in the workplace unless you're an officer, military, or prison guard. Everyone should be unarmed.

Should principals carry guns? They might have to prevent another Columbine. Should Christian school teachers and principals also have guns?  I wouldn't want my children in a school I felt was so dangerous the staff and admin needed guns.

It is really quite simple. I am a strong advocate for  the rights of every civilian to carry a firearm; just not at work. (Unless of course you work in one the previously posted vocations).

I'm not so sure anymore that we are higher life forms.  It kind of reminds me of something my dad used to say whenever people would do something stupid.  He would say. "Flies I despise... BUT the more I see of PEOPLE, the more I like flies".

Why do they call it "Common Sense" when so damn few people have it?

Yes it is really quite simple, it's obvious (to me anyway) that you must have misspoke when you claimed to be a strong advocate for civilians carrying private firearms.

Hmm...biofilms get my vote for some of the most intelligent life forms on earth.

????????????????????????????  I will confess that I am kind of reading the tea leaves here because I'm not sure who your comment is directed to, but I assume it was directed to me.  No, I did not misspeak.  I DO believe in citizens being abe to own personal protective weapons.  NO, I DO NOT believe that should be extended to allow the employees sitting on the assembly line with a .45.  Whether you consider that "a strong advocate" or not is on you.  What I said is "I believe it is their right" to carry a weapon for personal protection.  Like all things, there must be limits.

JLS, I believe he was speaking to Palehorse, but it sounds like you and Palehorse believe somewhat the same thing.

I would also feel LESS safe where people were allowed to carry weapons indiscriminately.
