On the main page, where it says closing and delays, that story re-directs you to WITH-TV's closing page. Is this sanctioned by the two companies? Do they have a contract to do this with them? Or is the HB just trying to seem like they are on top of things?

ACS directs you to Channel 13 for school closings..that's who I go with.

It doesn't matter who you look to for this. My concern is that they are promoting having weather related closings, but they then bait and switch you to channel 8. Are they doing it honestly, or is it just a stolen link used to get you to see one more page of their advertisments on their website.

I go with the bait and switch. Why would you do that when you can get the info right away from the TV without having to wait for HB to decide to post. Just another example of the fish wraps games.

I imagine they're doing it for convenience? That is, it takes manpower (which I lack at the moment unfortunately) to keep up on that info, type it up and keep a list.)

I'd GLADLY spend a few hours coming up with a ticker system or something for AFP for school closings if there are any volunteers to gather the data. I don't think it would be right (or prudent) to just get the info from another source, though, so it would be a lot of work.

And I guess I have to admit it may be more convenient to see the delays on your tv... Well, that is until the TV and Computer begin to merge even more... But I digress...

Changing thread title to indicate we're also talking about school closings.

Good thread, though, TheDawg!

I just honestly think you are taking on too much for one person. That's all.

The Closings and Delays have begun.

So far:  A church in Kokomo will be closed today.

Well, reading that other thread it sounds like you should be one to talk!

Thanks for the concern, though. To be an entrepeneur (SP?) (and a good speller) takes a lot of work, long hours, etc. It's something I can concentrate on now (this stage of my life), so I'm going for it and giving it all I've got.

Grandma's recently stopped asking when I'm going to 'get a real job...' Heh. I could probably find one, I imagine, but even though I'm barely staying afloat, I'm having fun (most of the time), and really do believe in the task laid out before me - forcing big media to change for the better for the betterment of us all. (And running on and on with my sentences...)

Anyway...
