Unless I am missing it I don't see any reference to Clendenen until the first line of my quote. I have no idea who they are talking about? They make no reference anywhere to a first name, or position? They also don't make reference to Reese's first name or position.

That is unprofessional, unless this is a sidebar to the main story.  I'd have to see it in the physical paper to see if that was the case.

It is our Chief's wife.  Pam Clendenen.  She has worked for the Parks Department for years (unknown how many).  Nice lady.

With it being Parks department related, I just knew when I seen the last name it was her.  Not for the that it is hard to understand.
