Ok, here's what I've found out re: my questioning of whether the HB had an education reporter - They do! (Heh. And I guess I should have known that, but wearing so many hats around here, I sometimes don't have the time...)

In any case, if anyone has any story ideas (like the one mentioned in another thread about the Senate Page ...), please pass them along to me (Anderson Free Press) and/or Barrett Newkirk at The Herald Bulletin.

They have staff and time restraints (though not nearly as bad as mine), but I'm sure they like to hear about story ideas.

Please note that me posting this information isn't officially sanctioned by the Herald Bulletin or meant to infer that there's any such official sanctioning (or that we would want official sanctioning from them), but is meant as a community service.

Thanks.

P.S. I guess now, though, you have a line to their education reporter, but can they produce more local Anderson stories with more ideas coming in? I don't think it's a lack of ideas when it comes to 'good/positive news' coverage...

On a positive note, it is good for them to be more accessible and listen to readers...

True.  You never know when the information you provide them might be just what they are looking for to fill a large news hole.

And just to make it clear, I'm still going to try to chase as many stories as I can with the resources I have.

This way, when someone pitches a story idea to both, we at least know they had the info about the person or event. Beyond that, it's on them... or me or us...
