hmmmm, input. Actually I think the most devoted of forum readers and posters, who actually address the topic issues, should be wearing tin foil hats. Most people, (and I'm not saying all) have a very set and often narrow point of view on things. I believe one of two things, they are either young and want to prove they know it all, or they are older and have become set in their ways and thinking. I don't think people have changed over the years with their Chicken Little mentality, they have just chosen new issues to bring the sky down on. The saddest part to me is that they will scream and holler about what is happening around us, and while those on the other side of the fence are screaming and hollering back that it's not true, and THIS is what is really happening all around us, both sides are speaking a lot of truth. They just haven't managed to sort out the chafe from the wheat and stick with the truest of issues. Making a lot of discussion moot. And no one is really listening any longer. Except for the few level headed posters who try to be the voice of reason. Who can actually see both sides of the issue and figure it out. Unfortunately, I think those are becoming fewer and farther in between, considering so few people are actually hearing them any longer.
My ramble for today. ;)

I'm subscribed to Poynter's Online-News mailing list and have been for years. Once in a while a great post or question will come through. One did over the weekend and with permission of the author, I'd like to share it with you AND get your input. Please be nice if we have more visitors. ;)
Granted, the questions were more toward those working in the news industry, but in the spirit of JOURNALISM AS CONVERSATION, I wanted to ask you what you thought about comments on AFP and news sites in General. Be sure to mention the HB comment system(S) if you like. Thanks, K. Paul Mallasch - Publisher
