Some people have said all it takes is for some country to detonate an EM pulse bomb over the appropriate area then we're blind and crippled. But those bombs don't exist yet, do they?

Served that d*mned squirrel right. I dislike squirrels - they mess with my bird feeder. OTOH, they're not as bad as raccoons - I had to chase a mama and baby away from the feeder last night. The baby was so confused - tried to run to me instead of to his mama....cute when they're little. Not so cute when they raid my feeder.

Assuming pancreatic cancer is not another North Korean headfake, Fox News says it doubts Kim will live as long as 5 more years:
"As few as 10 of every 100 patients have their pancreatic tumor cut out. The majority has the most aggressive form of pancreatic cancer, called adenocarcinoma, and usually it's too far gone to operate.
"This is one of the most formidable cancers. The American Cancer Society estimates that nearly 38,000 people last year were diagnosed with it, and no more than 5 percent overall survive five years.
"Caught in its advanced stages, pancreatic cancer, which affects about 30,000 people a year, has a 5 percent survival rate for five years. Caught early enough and treated with surgery and chemotherapy, the five-year survival rate goes up to 17 to 25 percent, Cooperman said."

That's what took my brother when he was 49.They opened him up for exploritory surgery then sewed him up and said "go home and get your affairs in order". He went from about 300 Lbs to about 98 Lbs in 4 weeks before he passed away. It wasn't pretty !

I think one of the major north east blackouts was caused by a squirrel on a relay. I guess there are alot of things that could wack the system.
the hardest part of doing nothing, is knowing when your done.
