Treat the Anti reflective coating carefully, it is very soft and will scratch pretty easily (scratch resistant coating always comes automatic on progressive lenses, unfortunately, the AR coating kind of makes it a mute point because it is so soft and staic-ey that it attracts tiny dust particles, be sure to rinse them off before you wipe with a soft cloth. Those glasses are an investment!)
Progressive huh....I thought you were younger....lol
"You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

This is not expanding medicare/medicaid. This is making a program much like Anthem available to those who don't have it available to them. After spending the past several years working in medical and medical billing I can share my obervation...Those who pay/work for their insurance appreciate it more and use it more carefully and are GENERALLY (not always) better overall patients. I do not think that expanding medicare/medicaid will fix our problem and I do not think that is what is being discussed.

Obama is playing with words like 'availability' hoping to confuse the issues of care and cost of care Health care is available to everyone. It costs money. Health insurance is available to almost anyone at a price. I pay for mine. Some have employer-funded insurance. Some employers pay a portion and the employee pays a portion. Some people would rather have 22" inch chrome wheels, smoke $5 a back Marlboros, etc., than pay for insurance for themselves or their kids. They get Medicaid when they show up at the emergency room with a head cold.
Obama is trying to foist a nationalized (Chavez ring a bell?) healthcare system which operates under government direction, with medical personnel whose income is determined by the government and is funded by the taxpayers. That's socialism. That doesn't work. Many countries have proven it.
I just had surgery. I was able to pick my doctor who did a super job and probably makes several hundred grand a year. I was able to schedule surgery within 2 weeks of being diagnosed with my knee problem. I will pay $1,000 or more in co-pays. I pay for my insurance but don't drive a $35K new car. It's all about choices. Obama wants us to lose our choices. I'll pass.

No Bull, maybe you and I speak 2 different languages.
What I hear is making health insurance available to anyone, and if you are happy with what you have, you can keep it, but if you are forced to make a choice between feeding your children or insuring them, this will give you another option. Many employers are keeping employees at part time and not offering any benefits at all to their employees.
I don't hear anything at all about the government controling your choice in doctors or in what care you get or in the payment of those doctors anymore than they already do with medicare/medicaid. (maybe if you are on the plan offered by the government there will be a network?) In chiropractic medicare determines what the prevaling rate should be in each area and we are not allowed to charge less than that (except in certain circumstances) and other insurance companies use that number to set their payment rates. That is already how it is, not how we want it to be or how we like it, but that is the way it is and if we want to practice we will learn to live with it, or get out.

Health insurance IS available to everyone. If you know differently, please advise with facts. Healthcare IS available to everyone. Ditto if you know otherwise. How to pay to for my healthcare is MY responsibility and I have no right to expect anyone else to pay for it. Do you think differently? If so, please send me your address and I'll send you my medical insurance and copay bills. Please make sure they're paid on time, okay?
Where does it say anywhere than an employer has to provide health insurance to its employees? It's a perk many companies use to lure the best candidates but it is not an obligation. It has become so expensive that many employers are requiring higher employee contributions or increased copays. Obama wants to cap medical compensation to doctors and healthcare providers. What happened to the free market? Ask Canadians and Swedes how well that socialized system is working. Yes, it does take 6 months to get a CAT scan in Canada.
I am content to live with the 'you want it, you pay for it' system as it is and I live within my means in order to afford that which I want and need. That includes healthcare. Those that can't provide for themselves due to physical or mental defect should have their needs met with my tax dollars. That's the right thing to do. But those that choose to have children they can't afford because they think it's their 'right' are really not my problem but, if you feel that altruistic, why don't you spring for their healthcare and leave me out of it?
