Next door to this old fire house a new house is starting to take shape. "A Rescue House". This new house will be for any family to find shelter, "IF" they lose everything in a home fire.
So far $40,000 has been collected, the foundation has been dug, & footing is now in place. This week the walls will go up. Our hope is to have the house compleat on September the 11th.
Any helpers will be welcome,, please call,,, Skip Ockomon at 425-1936 if you would like to pitch in.
I'll keep pictures and progress reports posted.
Thank You Kpaul for the "A.F.P. space" for this worthwhile project.
Capt. You know how I feel about burned out fire vics and this is a truly wonderful thing to see coming together. I read or heard this this fire rescue house is the only one in the United States. Madison and AFD should be very proud. Although it is a shame what it took to get their attention on the need last Jan, I think it was with the Buslog family. We have known it for many years.
