What is wrong with Chesterfield?  I grew up there, moved to Houston for 10 years and then moved back.  Growing up, we never locked the doors or took the keys out of the cars.  "Everyboby knows your name" as the song goes.

I've lived all over this great country and never enjoyed the people I've met in any city as much as I do those in Andertucky and Madison County.  Sure, we're broke, we've got some crooks in our local government (a couple in the City) and, based on the police reports we read, the typical B.A.C. of many of our residents exceeds the G.P.A.'s of half of our high school seniors, but there is a warmth and friendliness amongst the populace that I've never found anywhere.  We're an enigma.  We have so much going for us but our apathy keeps us from realizing what we could become.

If we will just focus on cleaning up our County government, put our kids' educations in front of the AFT's demands and attract some businesses with some sensible incentives/abatements, I honestly believe Anderson could become a 'top 10' city!  We've got the heart, we've just allowed small group of self-serving 'public servants' forget who they work for!

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. - Thomas Jefferson
