He finally admitted he had an affair with the chick he hired....all this while his devoted wife battled cancer.  What an ASS!

Sippy, I am not justifying what he did in any way, shape or form, but back in 2004 my mother also had cancer and my step father of 23 years, left her for some skank less than 3 weeks after having a bilateral mastectomy.   I guess it's pretty common for some men that think "when the going get's tough, pack my s*%t and leave".. Saddest part of it all, was my mother not only had to deal with the fact of losing part of her, but also raising her then 14 year old son by herself while going through it all.  Nice, nice man.....

Well, it must be a trend. A friend of my sister and brother-in-law- well, was a friend- his wife got cancer, he moved her back to her mother's! Then kept their three young kids and moved his skank into their house- skank was the new mother. WTF is wrong with people?

I have lost a lot for Edwards. I thought he was possibly one I could hang my hat on. He is young and would have future years and be good for America. But, this just saddens me to the marrow.

However, currently he is running for nothing ~ here is someone who is who, in my opinion, was responsible for even a much more devious relationship. The Edwards betrayal has caused me to take a second look at McCain's deviousness (and, I can't even begin to forget the worst of the bunch ~ Gingrich, the biggest hypocrite of them all).

 http://www.azcentral.com/news/specials/mccain/articles/0301mccainbio-chapter5.html

Quote:

McCain recalls that both he and Cindy initially misled each other about their ages. McCain made himself a little younger, and Cindy made herself a little older. They found out their real ages when the local paper published them. McCain was 43, Cindy 25.

"So our marriage," McCain cracks, "is really based on a tissue of lies."

Early in the courtship, McCain called Cindy from Beijing, where he was traveling with a Senate Foreign Relations Committee contingent. Cindy was in the hospital recuperating from minor knee surgery. She thanked him for the lovely flowers in her room, sent from "John."

What McCain didn't tell Cindy was that he hadn't sent the flowers. They were from another John, who lived in Tucson.

"I never thanked him," Cindy notes with a grin.

After a whirlwind courtship, John asked Cindy to marry him. But there were some details to clear out of the way.

McCain needed a divorce from Carol, his wife of 14 years from whom he was separated. After McCain's dramatic homecoming from Vietnam, the couple grew apart. Their marriage began disintegrating while McCain was stationed in Jacksonville. McCain has admitted to having extramarital affairs.

"If there was one couple that deserved to make it, it was John and Carol McCain," author Robert Timberg wrote in John McCain: An American Odyssey. "They endured nearly six years of unspeakable trauma with courage and grace. In the end it was not enough. They won the war but lost the peace."

In February 1980, less than a year after he met Cindy, McCain petitioned a Florida court to dissolve his marriage to Carol, calling the union "irretrievably broken."

Bud Day, a lawyer and fellow POW, handled the divorce proceedings.

"I thought things were going fairly well, and then it just came apart," Day later recalled. "That happened to quite a few. . . . I don't fault (Carol), and I don't really fault John, either."

In his book Worth the Fighting For, McCain offers his own post-mortem on his failed marriage. He "had not shown the same determination to rebuild (his) personal life" as he had to excel in his naval career.

You do know why McCain left his first wife? Maybe you should find out!

I still have a lot of respect for Sen Edwards.  He is very rich and as you may already know, much older than he looks.  Was pissed off with Kerry for conceding the 2004 election (before the votes were counted). His primary area of interest has been "One America".  The organization has had success in some cities.
Had hoped he would stay out running for office again and stay with the economic developement of cities.
The few times I saw him after the 2004 election, he started with a comment about Elizabeth, his wife, and doing Ok with health issue.  Today, no sign he intends to leave her for another.

For the record, I don't think someone committing adultery has anything to do with what kind of job they do.  I'm just disappointed in him as a man, a husband, and a father.

WHATEVER!!  He's a piece of trash - the truth seems to be trickling out more and more every day!!  My favorite part is that the arrogant bastard STILL had the nerve to run for President knowing this was on the back burner!  Father of the year, indeed!!
