Taylor Swift and Kanye West: racism?

OK. I'm still trying to get a little action moving around here on AFP. So tell me, when Kanye West grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift and went on to praise the black female who lost the award instead of letting Taylor finish her acceptance, was he motivated because of race? “If you treat an individual as he is, he will stay as he is; but if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be.” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

My take is that Kanye's motivated by STUPID. This isn't his first race in the "foot in mouth" division. He proves that it doesn't take a lot of intelligence to be famous. Talent and grace are not synonyms

I can't say if Kanye is a racist or not since I can't read his heart. What I can say is that he has a history of jumping on stage at award shows and showing his a**. He has grabbed mics, stolen the spotlight and made a total idiot of himself more than once. Not every one of those times has the award recipient been white. Some have been, some were not. Kanye is just a head case. His race notwithstanding.

I'm doing a little devil's advocacy here. What started me thinking along these lines is the Democrat claim that any opposition to Obama's plans is racist at heart. Just because a black person is involved and the opposition may (or may not) be white, why do people rush to the conclusion that it's racism? It's just plain stupid. It speaks a lot to Bob Hertzog's last blog, imo.

Is it racism, or is it ALCOHOL or even DRUGS? I would guess he probably drinks. I have met people who really put their foot in their mouth when they are drinking. Who knows, (purely speculating) he could have went off the deep end after his mother's death. They seemed very close. I think "we" often don't think of it because we do not visually see the alcohol being consumed.
