While I may not agree with everything he says, he does make some excellent points!

I don't respect your beliefs

and I don't care if you're offended.

Cheers."

Hey Sippy, what do you not agree with, and why not?

I believe in God, so obviously, I don't agree with much of what he said about people who do.  But I do agree with many things he said, such as....

The US Presidential election is not only important for Americans, but for the whole world.

The Republican presidential nominee race is turning into who can convince people they're the bigger Christian.

Our society is ruled by Christian values, which today, are often not the same as Christ's values.

Freedom doesn't require religion, as Mitt Romney stated.  Freedom of religion should include freedom from religion.  I have friends who are Athiests.  They are definitely shunned and as he said, in the Bible Belt, which is where I live, you don't dare come out of the closet if you're an athiest.  Or many other things for that matter.

Christianity doesn't equal Patriotism

It won't be long before someone uses the phrase "War on Atheism".

And what side will you then take when that happens? It's gonna be kinda hard to be in the middle at that point.

I try not to take sides.  I don't think there should be sides if we truly believe in what Jesus taught.  There should be no war on Athiests.  It doesn't mean I support Atheism, I merely support their freedom to be Athiests in a country founded because people desired an escape from religious persecution.

Well said Sippy, well said. A long time ago, and just because I could, I roamed the South in search of answers that I never found, although I did indeed learn a lot of other things -- one being that it is most certainly the Bible Belt where you live, that and those surrounding states. People hold their religious beliefs very strongly in the Bible Belt -- a good intellectual conversation on the issue of religion was not to be had, so I quickly learned not to start one... If this 'War' ever starts, I am going to remain silent at all costs.

On the other hand, I will fight for my and others freedom of expression and religion, if necessary, so maybe I will find myself joined someplace in that battle -- I hope not. Life is too short. I say live and let live.
