Tough to pay him that kind of money for a few games a year. 3/4 of the starting secondary out for season! Tough way to go now.

Bob Sanders is one of my favorite Colts; I love to watch him play. He is a great defensive bulldog, a fearless performer, and seems to be a fine person off the field. However, the Colts cannot afford to pay a huge salary to a part-time player. In his six-year career, he has played in 47 of 87 games (that's 46% absenteeism) and that number will be significantly worse by the end of the season and playoffs. Melvin Bullitt is not a Safety the likes of Sanders and Polamalu, but he's major league talent. Bob has to go; I wish him well.

As much as I would love to disagree with those folks who want to get rid of Bob Sanders, I can't. As much as I love his style of play, leadership ability AND his off field demeaner, he HAS become a liability to the team.

There are POSSIBLE problems with getting rid of him though. First, his value is questionable until he is through this most recent round of injuries (might be difficult to get what Indy thinks he is worth in a trade). The bigger problem MAY be his current contract. Depending on how it is structured, the Colts may still take a salary cap hit even if they find a team to pay a reasonable price for him. Then, when they repalce him, there will be a cap hit for the new guy. Big time Safeties aren't standing around on street corners waiting to be picked up.  As it turns out, they may pay Bob Sanders money for a lesser replacement. In the long run, the may HAVE to keep him for a while.

Why do they call it "Common Sense" when so damn few people have it?

I so agree.  Sanders is also one of my favorite to watch play(when he can).  But who wants to pay that kind of money to watch someone roam the sidelines for most of the season?  I am beginning to really like this Austin Collie guy.   Has great hands and makes an impossible look easy....also gotta love Dallas Clark....great player and easy on the eyes...LOL

I sure hope I am wrong and Colts prove me wrong.  I wonder if I got my score backwards?  Yes I am in on the worthless points.  Still going with the Colts.

Talked to a friend of mine and her boss got her tickets to the game tomorrow and she is scared she is going to jinx them being there.  lol

We're all going to see tomorrow. They'll have the roof open, lot of fans making noise, the colt's cheerleader's, the beautiful new stadium. Wish I could be there. Just have to watch on TV.
