Okay I give up why would they have to use their 3rd sting quarter back when Peyton is healthy. Bob Sanders is a running back and they think he may be okay for regular season opening.

Usually teams need two QB's on the roster. You never know when #1 will go down. Also, during the pre season, the #2 and #3 QB's play more than the #1 so that #1 isn't hurt before the season starts. Most teams release the #3 QB at the end of pre-season to open up another roster spot.
Sanders is a Safety.
