Montana Mike's Steakhouse
(765) 649-8000Montana Mike's is a new franchise steakhouse in Anderson. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other franchise steak places in the area. Nice rustic decor with "trophy" mounted heads, fish, and small game animals hanging on the walls and placed on ledges around the facility. It gives you the feeling of walking into a hunting lodge as you walk in the building.
The menu has a wide variety of food options. The portions are worthy of the price and they have many side options for those not simply looking for a steak and potatooption. Warm dinner roles are served to all guests with a food order.
Service has been friendly, although not always speedy, the few times I have visited the location. The location is new and seems to be a bit understaffed at times, however this could be due to not having a good feel for guest traffic at the current time.
While it is a steak house, the best menu item I have experienced has been the fried catfish. Seasoned nicely and cooked to perfection. The ribeye steak was nice, although I found it to be a bit bland as far as ribeye's go. The sirloin was a bit tough and not something I would order there again.
This new steak house is worth checking out, although it is not my new first choice for a steak dinner.

I wasn't impressed at all. I didn't like the service, the food, or the price.
Will go try it again before I will say I won't reccomend it.
Been there twice. Was not impressed. My husband said the hamburger wasnt bad. The steak , well, he said the hamburger wasnt bad.
If I want a steak I will go somewhere with better service and better food.
The Catfish dinner is very good. I will go elsewhere for steak myself.
Very busy on 1/30/09 Friday night. Was quite pleased. Big Beer was cheaper than B-Dub and 22 oz steak between myself and wife was great. Two thumbs up.
We ate at the one in Greenfield Saturday and I have to say it was probably the best burger I have ever had. It was a one pound burger(two patties
) so I cut it in half. I ate half and then asked for a box for the other half,Sunday lunch. When we got up to leave I helped my wife with her coat and forgot to pick up the box. I didn't realize it until we got home.
I tried it once, the Sirloin was so tough and grissly and the fork tines so dull, you couldn't even pierce the meat. The wait staff was great however. After a little conversation we were told we were not the first to complain. The salad was only mediocre along with the rolls. I will not go there again for a steak. Anderson has too many other places where the steak is great compaired to Montana Mikes.
Have not been to MM but my personal choice for a steak and great service is Lone Star.
I also have not tried Montana Mike's.....but might later on this month because we will be celebrating a birthday and I think that is where we are going. I also like Lonestar...but I really like Outback in Muncie or O'Charlie's in Noblesville.
My hubby and I went there Friday night (02/06) and we had a 30 minute wait. We waited and ordered the mountain topper, which is ground sirloin with toppings. Okay we got our order pretty quick. I took a bite and it didn't taste right. So I thought, "Well, maybe try another bite." I cut into the meat and it was PINK. it was NOT cooked all the way through. YUCK! Now, our waitress was very polite and was on the ball and really did all she could to remedy the sitution. By the time the new sirloin cam out, hubby was done and I was full with the side dishes. We left the waitress a nice tip, but I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. I just wasn't impressed with the food. It was mediocre at best. I agree with one of the other posts, there are many other MUCH better steak house in Anderson.
First of all welcome to AFP tiffers17! If you are ever in the Greenfield area try the Montana Mike's there. It seems to be quite a bit better than the one in Anderson.
