Clearing the Air
Submitted by WorkingMom on Mon, 06/08/2009 - 10:29am.
In the last six months my perception of life and the people around me has been forever altered. Those that I thought would be there to support I have drastically let me down. And others that I never expected to be there have stepped up. I have several things that have come up in general conversation on here over this time that I want to set straight today.

Relay For Life
Submitted by WorkingMom on Mon, 05/25/2009 - 8:54am.
Hi, I'm involved with Relay For Life, an incredible event that among other things, celebrates cancer survivors and raises money to eliminate the disease. I thought of you as someone I wanted to reach out to and invite to participate in the celebration.
Cancer survivors are the reason we Relay to make sure more people are surviving this disease and to improve the quality of life for those who are battling it.

Physical scars
Submitted by WorkingMom on Sat, 05/16/2009 - 6:30pm.
So last Tuesday I had my second surgery. I have addressed the mental difficulties openingly but have never showed you the physical aspects of recovery. Today I will post two pictures. I have kept them clean, sorry but I didn’t want to emotionally scar anyone. You can visibly see the scar on from the first surgery. The second is still under those little butterfly stitches. However that is the bruising moving to the surface. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture that would show the swelling. The bruising will continue to come to the surface over the next week.

Something is missing
Submitted by WorkingMom on Wed, 03/25/2009 - 7:34pm.
I noticed something was missing this morning, I can't locate my lump! I called the oncologist and they are doing an ultra-sound tomorrow (1:15 pm) to see if it has completely went away. Keep your fingers crossed guys! I really want off the chemo. And this could be the ticket I'm looking for.

Chemo therapy is a heartless soul sucking bitch.
Submitted by WorkingMom on Mon, 02/16/2009 - 12:40pm.
Chemo therapy is a heartless soul sucking bitch. Yes I’m sure it’s female. Only a woman could possibly be so indecisive and unforgiving. Today I am working. Today I am sicker then I have been in some time. Rarely do I actually get sick. However, 3 times so far today. And corporate will be here around three o’clock. Dying isn’t even an option. And to top it off, there is dinners scheduled tonight with cooperate.
