ANDERSON, IN - Earlier this week, Mayor Kris Ockomon announced a leadership change at Anderson Municipal Light and Power, naming Bruce Boerner to fill the position of Superintendent, formerly held by Tom Donoho.
Mayor Ockomon stated that the change in leadership was in no part a reflection on Donoho’s management style or character, and stated that Donoho will remain employed at Anderson Municipal Light and Power serving in his previously held position of Transmission/Distribution Supervisor. In a prepared statement, Donoho said the new position would allow him the opportunity to continue to serve the community while adhering to doctor’s recommendations that he scale back on work.
Boerner has been employed by Anderson Municipal Light and Power since 1967, where he has worked in every department in every phase of work during his tenure. Boerner designed and implemented an electrical safety education program for Anderson Municipal Light and Power, assisted in the design, construction, and connection of the City’s fiber optic loop. Boerner said his chief goal in his new position will be to provide excellent service to customers while helping restore Anderson Municipal Light and Power’s financial solvency and re-emerge as a successful financial contributor to the City.
Anderson Municipal Light and Power is a member of the Indiana Municipal Power Agency’s family of communities, and has IMPA’s largest number of customers, as well as its largest geographic coverage area.
