I smoked for over 40 years

I smoked for over 40 years and quite on a weekend. If I can anyone can. I get so tired of smelling like smoke after being out to eat in a no smoking section. Ha!!!! And why is it that all of the hard luck people with no job or on welfare have money to my smokes and beer and drive junkers that should be off the road??

I hate to smell smoke

I hate to smell smoke myself, but what I hate even worse is govt. interfering with private enterprise.  If I don't like the atmosphere I can go somewhere else, but I will also be sure to let the proprietor know why I won't go there.  I did exactly that with my favorite Mexican joint.  They're now building a new building because they need more room and they will be doing a better job separating the smoking and non-smoking sections (currently, it's just a half wall).

Would be nice if I could

Would be nice if I could vote but all of a sudden it won't let me.  I also feel Government controls enough of our lives.  Boycott a place if they are not smoke free and then they may decide to go smoke free  if it hits their bottom line.

I quit smoking 10 years ago.

I quit smoking 10 years ago. I did not really feel right smoking in a restaurant and expecting others to have to tolerate the smoke. It did not hurt me to wait and go outside to smoke. And it did not bother me going into places that were non smoking.

9/12/08 7:38 pm What Mr.

9/12/08 7:38 pm What Mr. PEPELA did at the city council meeting was no accident. He intentionally introduced a smoking ban proposal that was unacceptable and that he knew would be voted down. It is clear that PEPELA, and other memebers of the city council, have no intention of doing anything that will PROTECT the children of this community from the inherent dangers of TOBACCO SMOKE. The info that I have at this time is that the SMOKING BAN issue can not be presented before the council again for 1 year, but at this time that is unconfirmed. Although what PEPELA did is clear , it is unclear at this time if he conspired with others to ignore all accepted medical and scientific FACTS to MANIPULATE PUBLIC HEALTH POLICY to favor PRIVATE BUSINESS OWNERS. Because of PEPELA children will continue be poisoned in public places. Because of PEPELA workers will continue to be poisoned. Under INDIANA STATE LAW poisoning anyone, particularily a child, is a FELONY. If I am not mistaken, that means that PEPELA has taken actions to FACILITATE A FELONY, not exactly what he was ELECTED to do. I will also be checking to see if PEPELA HAS VIOLATED HIS OATH OF OFFICE.
