Hillary Did It
Hillary Clinton knocked the sox off the Democratic convention, last night. She said exactly the right things to end any division in the Democratic Party. Her strongest point was asking her supporters the think about why they got into her campaign in the first place. She asked, "Did you get in just for me?" Or did you get into it (paraphrasing here) to help people who need health care, people working minimum-wage jobs, women working for less pay then men in the same job, etc. If those are you issues, she said, you must help elect Obama.
She spoke as length about why she got into the campaign and then said she does not want to see all she has worked for to be lost with the election of McCain. She even has a great joke saying the the Twin Cities was a great place for the Republican convention, because George Bush and John McCain would be there together and it is difficult to tell them apart.
No doubt Republicans will find something to pick apart on the speech, but if you watched her delivery what you saw here is the political version of a major league hard ball. It was clearly the best speech, I have ever seen Hillary deliver.- Bob Hertzog's blog
