State Police Arrest Elwood Police Officer

PENDLETON, IN -  Detective Keith O'Donnell arrested Shaun Andy Murray, 28, Anderson on today’s date for theft from the Elwood Police Department evidence room.  He is alleged to have taken opiates (pain-killers) from the evidence room for his personal use.  Murray is an Elwood Police Officer and their evidence room technician.   

He was arrested today’s date at his residence in Anderson.  He has worked for several police departments in Madison County, but most recently the Elwood Police Department.  O’Donnell transported Murray to the Madison County Jail.  Murray has posted a $5,000 bond. 

Arrested and Charged 

  • Shawn Andy Murray, 28, Anderson
  • Charged with Official Misconduct
  • Theft
  • Possession of a controlled Substance
