Local sports : Ball State continues to win !



The Ball State football Cardinals increased their record to 7-0 tonight in Bowling Green Kentucky by outscoring the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 24-7 . The Hilltoppers had several drives into Ball State territory that ended with three fumbles and two missed field goals . Nate Davis threw two touchdown passes and junior MiQuale Lewis had one rushing touchdown . Sophomore Ian McGarvey kicked one field goal from 37 yards in the third quarter to make the score 17-0 . Nate Davis then completed the second of his two touchdown passes this time to Louis Johnson to make the score 24-0 . Western Kentucky was able to sustain a drive and score a touchdown in the last minute of the game to avert the shutout . The Cardinals who were rated #25 in the nation going into tonights game are now 7-0 , equaling last seasons total wins , and they are 3-0 in the MAC . They are two wins away from matching the best start in Cardinal history way back in 1965 when they started the season 9-0 . The Cardinals have an off week coming up next week . Their next game will be when they host Eastern Michigan on October 25th at Scheumann Stadium .
