Reske Challenges Candidates to Second Public Forum

Reske also comments on the released tapes

ANDERSON, IN - Today State Representative Scott Reske (D-Pendleton) is asking both of his opponents for State Representative District 37 to join him in a second public forum.

“To direct the focus of this race to real issues, I challenge Kelly Gaskill  and Robert Jozwiak to a second public forum where we can discuss the true issues at stake in this election -- jobs, property taxes, high gas prices, and illegal immigration,” said Reske. “I believe that a dignified public forum is what people really want from candidates.”

The Anderson Police Department released tape recordings today that Mike Gaskill used to file an unfounded complaint against Reske.

“The recording clearly shows that the complaint filed against me by the Gaskills is completely without merit and a political stunt,” said Reske. “The Gaskill campaign squandered valuable public resources by needlessly tying up the time of two police agencies for their own political gain.

“The tape demonstrates my honest effort to protect the community from a negative campaign and to ask the Gaskills to a mutual agreement to stay positive. I believe the people of Madison County are short-changed by dishonest campaign stunts such as Gaskills’. I take personal responsibility for all aspects of my campaign, and I encourage Gaskill to do the same.

“It is a privilege to serve the citizens of Madison County and I will always do my best to conduct myself accordingly. I understand the importance of conducting myself with integrity, and I again encourage the Gaskills to do the same.”

The HB has some audio

The HB has some audio here...

listen to the audio Click here to listen to Part 1

listen to the audio Click here to listen to Part 2

listen to the audio Click here to listen to Part 3

I don't know if it's everything that was released or their own edit. The audio was pretty awful from what little I listened to...

Also, I've contacted APD's PIO's (public information officers) to make sure AFP is in the loop for info coming out from them...

Would there be interest from the public in a second forum - or maybe something closer to a debate without the walking around the stage so much? Just some thoughts. AFP is about your thoughts too, though...

Also, she fails to send her statement to AFP as well. Whoops.

I haven't heard from Jozwiak yet ...

Kpaul - what about having

Kpaul - what about having interviews with Jozwiak, Gaskill and Reske?  Or maybe just getting Reske's and Gaskill's video statements regarding the negative campaign advertising?

I will just be glad when election is over, as I am sick of the mud slinging and negativity from everyone!

Did you forget, Gaskill doesn't talk to the press! :D

LOL.  True. I'm with Colts

LOL.  True. I'm with Colts Fan.

If Gaskill won't talk, that doesn't mean Reske wouldn't. Would he explain his take on the situation, or maybe just be interviewed about what's in the works at the Statehouse? Maybe Jozwiak could make a statement on what he thinks he would do differently. I still think Gaskill should be offered the chance. If she doesn't want to take it, that would be her choice.

I want to find out if the House Rep would support volunteer firefighters. I hear Daniels wants to make the fire depts all direct employees. I can't figure out how he'd fund it.

I don't think we need to hear anymore from Roofer Rob. I remember when he was running for Mayor, his idea was put all Mexicans on a bus and ship them out.  If you really must interview him, look at Rickers.

I don't think Kpaul wants

I don't think Kpaul wants to. Roofer seems pretty scary up close. I was at that same debate and thought it was hilarious that he wanted to deport all the Mexicans to Hamilton County.  Why not Vigo or Vermillion?

He can't afford the gas for

He can't afford the gas for that far?
