National Wallace BMX Month a Success
ANDERSON, IN - March was National Wallace BMX Month, which was founded by former BMX racer Steve Wallace of Anderson, IN. Wallace raced in the early 1980s, but he had to retire due to a nerve disorder called 'Dystonia' which affects his muscles and speech.
National Wallace BMX month was filled with family activities for kids young and old. The month saw many BMX Tracks in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Washington State and Texas with a substantial increase in new riders. Also, bike shops were at an all time high for bike repairs and sales for new and used bikes of all kinds. It was also a month to get out and volunteer, help your neighbor's kids and your own kids with their bikes and teach them about bicycle safety when they are on the road.
Many tracks had special races and free practices in honor of National Wallace BMX Month.
"I would like to Thank all the sponsors and tracks and media who supported this month and made it a huge success," Wallace said. Wallace is featured in the April issue of BMX Today Magazine for this special month and his 25 years in the BMX Industry.
