Anderson Investigators Seek Clues in Recent Homicides

ANDERSON, IN – This week Crime Stoppers is seeking clues that may help investigators solve two homicides.  On June 5, 2008, 36-year-old Andre Blackmon was killed as he returned home from a local bar.  As he entered his apartment at 2106 Noble Street, an intruder shot and killed Blackmon after a brief struggle.  Police believe the killer may have been tipped-off that Blackmon was returning home.

Similarly, on Jan. 10, 2009, Rodney Clay, 23, was found shot to death inside his home at 1124 Home Avenue after neighbors reported hearing gun shots.  Four men were seen running from Clay’s house after the gunfire.  Investigators speculate a woman who visited Clay moments before the robbery, conspired with the men to rob him.

In both cases, police suspect robbery was the motive as both victims are believed to have resisted their attackers.  Anyone with information on this week’s crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 649-8310 or e-mail crimestoppers@cityofanderson.com.  Tipsters remain anonymous and will receive a cash reward for information that results in arrest.
