News in the Night 6-12-09
I am a little rusty at this already so bear with me while I get back into doing this. It was a steady morning until later then it seemed to drop right off. Here is what I have for the morning.
2:28 Medic 2, Rescue trouble breathing 3300 block of Morton.
2:29 APD was sent to the area of 14th and Pearl. The caller said that he heard 2 gunshots in the area and while he was reporting it he said that he heard 2 more. When officers arrived in the areathey were hearing fireworks. A person on foot on Walnut also said that he thought that he heard fireworks. The officers could not find anything.
3:05 APD was sent to the 2300 block of Fulton for several subjects fighting outside. Weapons were unknown. When officers arrived they were flagged down and told that the people fighting had left.
3:13 APD received a 911 call from the 1200 block of w 14th. a female said that she needed the police and hung up.When they called back a man answered. I really did not hear how this call was resolved.
3:14 APD was sent to the 1800 block of w 8th st. THe caller said that her fiance was outside fighting with a woman. This was a return call.
3:34 APD was sent to e 32nd st. A caller said that a green vehicle westbound from Scatterfield hit a curb and was driving on a rim. They said the car pulled into the old factory lot and they thought the driver was drunk. The officer found the car but the driver was not under the influence. It just sounded like he was having a bad day.
4:42 APD was sent to the 200 block of w 37th st for a 911 hang up call. The call back went to voicemail.
Around 4:45 APD was sent to the 900 block of Main st for a 911 hang up. The dispatcher said that it sounded like line trouble. The business was closed with a security gate securing the door.
4:56 APD was called to Arbor Village for a standby call. The dispatcher said this was the third call to this address tonight. Another officer familiar with the circumstances there said that the standby needed to happen at a more appropriate hour. The officers were not dispatched.
