News in the Night 6-16-09

 It was a fairly steady morning. Here is what I have for you today.

 2:28 APD was sent to the 1300 block of Arrow for a male and female black fighting. A second call came in before officers could arrive stating that approximately 10 to 15 people were fighting in the street. When the officers arrived no one was out in the street.

 3:20 APD was sent to 27th and Walton for 2 male whites in an orange truck smoking marijauna and shining flashlights. The callers nephew had been down there with them earlier.

 3:24 APD was sent to the 1000 block of w 10th , Delaware ct apts. st for a male and female fighting. The caller said that it was an ongoing problem.This was classified as a service call by the officer.

 3:29 APD traffic stop 27th and Walton. This resulted in a moped being towed and an OWI arrest .

 3:52 APD was sent to the 1800 block of Miller ave. A white female was screaming for help and her boyfriend was yelling at her. He had left on foot before officers arrived.They thought that they spotted him at 3:59 at around 14th and Walnut. He was described as a Male white wearing a ball cap and no shirt. At 4:03 they thought they spotted him at 13th and Pearl (it was not him). At 4:04 the officer wanted someone to look down e 18th and see if they could see him as they though that he lived down there. When the first officer arrived he said that She would not open the door. He guessed that maybe she thought that the officer was the man returning. Neighbors led the police to believe that he may have hit her or beat her up. The officer drew up a case report with no charges however he said that if anyone seen him out tonight to arrest him for public intoxigation. The female had a protective order against the male.

  3:55 APD was sent to the 700 block of w 6th to take a report of an unauthorized control.

  4:38 APD was sent to the 600 block of Madison ave to take report of a theft from vehicle.

 4:38 Medic 2 injured in a fall 2500 e 5th. They helped the man up and he did not need to go to the hospital.
