News in the Night 6-23-09

Well I missed some things but I managed to catch most of what was going on later. Here is what I have for you today ( tell your friends ).

1:55 APD was sent to the 1900 block of Jefferson for a trouble with call. The person was not there yet as far as the dispatcher knew. The caller said that he had been threatened and and that the other man said that he was on his way with a knife. The trouble with man had left messenges on the callers voicemail ( doesn't that just scream take me to jail ). The man was described as a male white about 5'6" scruffy facial hair. The police were also looking for him in the 2400 block of Brown st.

2:35  Here is a call I missed and never caught all of it.  APD was called to e 14th from the payphone at the Village Pantry. Whoever and whatever they had called about I never heard. The person they had called about was quickly pulled over at 14th and Meridian 2:39.

2:57 APD was sent to the 3600 block of Brown st for somone lurking around vehicles. This was a return call. APD had been sent out there earlier for about the same thing but they  said they actually did not see anyone. What they said they did see was one woman said she thought she saw a light from a cellphone and the other woman though that she saw shadows of someone. This time they gave the police a description but whoever it was had already left .

3:00 APD was sent to the 2000 block of George st for a trouble not there now with call. The woman caller said the man was possibly intoxicated.  A scene tech was requested to this address later.

Around 3:30 APD traffic stop (did not say where ). Then it was a pursuit. It was a red chevy truck going about 45 MPH and the white male driver ran at least one stop light. He baled out in the alley between Main and Meridian. He was not caught but the truck was towed.

3:40 APD was sent to the 3000 block of Nichol ave. The caller said that someone was standing in her driveway and she was not expecting anyone at this time.

4:10 APD was sent to the 1700 block of e 17th st. The caller said she had a 14 year old boy down on the ground at gunpoint reference the possible theft of a vehicle. The boys father was later called to pick him up.

4:22 APD was sent to the Sav-on liquor  (I am pretty sure this was at the 38th and Main location). The alarm company did not phone this in the store owner did. He heard it. The officer said that He thought that it came from the Rent a center. It all checked secure wherever it was from.

APD was sent to the CVS at 3rd and Scatterfield. The clerk said that she had video of someone going behind the counter and stealing.

APD was sent to the Oaks apts. (this was very confusing) At first I understood the dispatcher to say that the caller and her daughter had an argument and the  daughter was at the front of the complex waiting for her father to pick her up. She said she could not see her daughter anymore and the dad had not arrived yet and that she was concerned. Then wehn the officers were arriving The story was that the daughter was arguing with her father and that she was back at the mothers apt. The mother said she wanted to speak to an officer.

And that is all I have today. Have a great day!
