All Roads Lead to Hoosier Park for Ivy Tech's Thunder Run

ANDERSON, IN - Ivy Tech Community College will host its second annual scholarship ride on Saturday, September 12, 2009. The event is a ride for vehicles of all kinds to eventually descend upon Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson, Ind. In 2008, the ride began as an initiative from Ivy Tech's Northeast region in Fort Wayne.

This year, it will include participants riding from additional Ivy Tech regions meeting up for a common cause. All roads lead to Hoosier Park Racing and Casino. There will be free food, a bike show, and a casino pass (must have arm band to participate; must be 21 or older to enter the casino or receive food and casino vouchers). There is an entry fee of $10 per person. The entry fee benefits student scholarships through the Ivy Tech Foundation. Ivy Tech President Thomas J. Snyder will greet everyone in Anderson, Ind., to culminate the fund raising event and receive the money raised.

Fort Wayne’s staging begins at 8:30 a.m. at Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast’s Coliseum Campus at 3800 N. Anthony Blvd. The run will begin at 10:45 a.m., and arrival at Hoosier Park Racing and Casino is scheduled for Noon. To register, go to www.ivytech.edu/thunderrun. Please indicate in the ‘Use my gift for’ line that the donation is going to 'Thunder Run'. Participants receive a pin, $10 food voucher, and $10 casino voucher. Commemorative shirts can be purchased on site at a minimal cost. For more information, contact John Knight at 260-480-2031.
