NEWS IN THE NIGHT 07-22-09

 It was not too busy but interesting at times. Here is what I heard while I was out.

  At about 3:10 There was an alarm in the 4400 block of Brenda dr. There was a man in the home claiming to be the home owner but he said he did not know the code. I did not hear anyone arrested last night or  a scene tech called out so I am   pretty sure that everything was okay there.

  3:38 APD was  called to the 1000 block of Redrock dr. The caller was an 11 year old boy who said his Mom had a knife and was threatening to kill his Dad with it. Police arrived quickly.I did not hear how it was resolved but there was a report taken and they left at 3:54.

  4:25 APD was sent to the area of 27th and Walton for a male wearing a light colored shirt smashing car windows. The caller gave them a name and thought the man may be on drugs but wished to remain anonymous. I did not hear them find him but it sounded like the officers were familiar with the man and where he lived. They did find car windows broken.

  5:10 Ladder 8, Engine 6, Engine 2, Medic 2, Rescue , Unit 20 Fire at Steeplechase apts. 800 block of w 53rd st. The caller said they could see smoke but did not know which building it was coming from. It was a small kitchen fire I believe that just one Engine handled.

  5:26 Medic 2 500 block of w 53rd injured in a fall.
