NEWS IN THE NIGHT 08-20 -09
2:49 APD was sent to the Rickers at 38th and Madison for a possible drunk driver in a green and silver truck at the pumps. He had left before they arrived but they spotted him just west of there. I do not believe that he was intoxicated as they let him go.
3:03 APD was sent to the 4400 block of Bender (I think that is what they said) for an alarm call.
3:17 APD assisted ISP at 29th and Chase.
3:34 Engine 6, Medic 3 trouble breathing 2400 block of Lincoln.
4:27 APD was in the area of the R bar and heard an alarm going off there. The officer that first heard it also seen a couple of people sleeping in a SUV behind the building. He told his back up that they were not the cause of the alarm. Everything checked secure and the 2 people did not have any warrants either.
4:51 Medic 1 was sent to Manor care on n Madison ave for a person injured in a fall.
5:57 APD was sent to the 2200 block of Columbus for a white male with a knife threatening to kill himself. The officers quickly subdued the man. I did see this call as I was on my way home (that is the way I go every morning) I went around as they had the whole road blocked off. I did not stop to ask anything or take pictures for AFP!
