NEWS IN THE NIGHT 08-23 -09

 Okay after a short but unintentional break I am back. I would like for all of the people who work for any of the local emergency services who read this to please read my latest blog.

  Here is what I have for you today.

   2:58 APD was sent to Jimbo's parking lot for a fight. The caller said that one of Jimbo's security was battering someone in the parking lot. 2 people went to jail from this call.

   3:02 APD traffic stop in front of Jimbo's on Main st. One of the officers thought that they have been involved in the Jimbo's fight. I did not hear how this was resolved.

   3:13 APD was sent to the area of 38th and Main for 2 young juveniles ridning their bikes in the area. Dispatch said the call had been pending for about 10 minutes (they were pretty busy from what I could hear). I do not think the officers found them in the area.

   3:17 APD traffic stop 1800 block of w 38th.

   3:29 APD was sent to Broadway and Grand for a car off in a ditch. The caller said her son was driving the car and was ran off the road. She said that he went to make the phone call and would be back in a few minutes. He was ran off the road by a dark colored vehicle. Police found the vehicle  at Court st and Indiana ave. One person complained of leg pain after the officers were there for a while but I am not sure if it was the driver or a passenger.

  3:29 APD was sent to the 1000 block of w Cross. The caller said that earlier today a male black had battered a woman there and then they  left  later. The caller said that they were back and he would like the officers to do a welfare check on the woman. According to the couple MCPD was called earlier and they had worked out their differences and all was well.

  3:31 APD traffic stop 5400 Scatterfield.

  3:31 At the time while the officers were in the area trying to initial locate the accident at Broadway and Grand one of the officers found a 14 year old girl walking around in the area. A message was left for her mother and then she was taken home.

   3:51 Medic 1 person injured in an auto accident Indiana ave. The person signed a refusal.

   4:09 APD was sent to the 1500 block of Walton. The woman said that her boyfriend had taken her keys from her and left with her car a black Chevy Malibu. She said that he was drinking. He was last seen going westbound on 16th st. He was found a short time later at Running Springs in the 1400 block of Painted Turtle ct. (around 4:15). He was arrested and the car was given back to the woman. He was suspended with infractions.

   4:55 APD was sent to Clancy's car wash to assist MCPD who were out on several subjects.

   4:58 Medic 1 person ill Longfellow plaza.

   5:01 This is funny and how did he manage it? APD Dispatch  called by the woman who's boyfriend had takenher car. Dispatch told the officer the man he had in custody was making a harassing phone call from his cell phone to her. The officer said that he had just put a stop to that. It must have happened at booking because I think that it would have been pretty hard to make a call with your hands cuffed behind your back.

   5:26 Engine 6 investigate a carbon monoxide detector going off in the 1900 block of Pearl st.

   At 5:27 I heard an APD officer checking into a car that I believe that he came across that had been broken into. It was in the 100 block s Mustin.
