NEWS IN THE NIGHT 09-08 -09

 There was a major house fire on the eastside of Anderson last night. It was called in a little before midnight. I was not near a radio when the call went out so I had to really listen and then go out for a ride tonight to learn exactly where it was. It was a house ( I am pretty sure that it was unoccupied) behind the FOP lodge in the 2600 block of  Mounds road. AFD did not turn the scene over to the investigators until around 3:00 am. I missed a lot of APD calls because of the working fire calls that were being transmitted. Here is what I do have for you.

   2:18 APD was sent to the 1400 block of w 13th st. The woman said she needs the police out and says that there is a  male on the premises that is going to hurt her. The dispatcher said that the woman put the phone down   but she could hear a man screaming and cussing. At 2:20 one of the officers said that he was there and could hear something bad happening in the rear house. A signal 100 (emergency radio traffic only) was called and it lasted until 2:23.The officers were then  trying to figure out what was really going on.

   2:37 APD was sent to the Village Pantry at 16th and Raible for two people that were possibly intoxicated in the store. They came in a black or dark red vehicle and were wearing dark sunglasses (cause when you  cool the sun shine on you 24 hours a day).

   2:58 APD was called to the 2300 block of e 3rd st. A woman was walking down the street and a car was following her. When she stopped at this residence to call the police the car waited outside for her.

   3:09 APD was called to the 2000 block of Costello. The caller said that someone was trying to break into his front door.

   3:21 APD was sent to the Payless at 3050 Meridian for a black female wearing white shorts and a black shirt harassing customers for money and a ride. 

   5:26 APD was sent to 29th and Delaware for a hit/skip accident. The woman caller said that a white vehicle ran her off the road and caused her to hit a pole. She said the vehicle left east on 29th st. towards the Payless. One of the first officers to arrived quickly said that there was no other vehicle and the car was towed and so was the driver.

   5:27 APD was sent to 23rd and Walton for 4 people in a smoky colored car at a house the caller knows that they do not live at.

   5:34 Medic 1 was sent to  Beverly Terrace apts. 1100 block of Central for a person ill.

   APD was sent to Cross and Madison for a person in a white Sonoma watching pornography on a laptop and masturbating.  The caller chased the vehicle through the  Community hospital parking lot but quit when the truck went  onto  Cross st.  When the officer asked why the man chased him the dispatcher said the man thought that it was gross (wonder what he would of thought if he had caught him).

   5:56 APD was sent to the 9th and Arrow to the north east corner for a man sitting in his car in the middle of the street (that is how they said it). The passerby said the car was not running and could not tell if anything was wrong with the man but he thought that it was suspicious.
