Abigail Brown Named September’s Character Counts Student of the Month Award
ANDERSON, IN – Eastside Elementary third grader Abigail Brown has been named the Character Counts Student of the Month for September. Abigail was nominated by her teacher Kathy Taylor. According to Taylor’s nomination, Abigail recently celebrated her ninth birthday.
In preparation for the party, she asked that in lieu of gifts her guests bring a donation to the Madison County Fire Rescue House. Abigail, the daughter of Anderson Police/Fire Dispatcher Christina Madron, was able to raise $125.00 for the recently opened fire rescue house. Abigail is recognized for her citizenship.
Each month the Anderson Police and Fire Departments recognize a Character Counts Student of the Month for actions defining one of the six pillars of character that include trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, caring and citizenship. The award is open to all elementary and middle school students. Monthly winners receive a t-shirt and medal recognizing their accomplishment.
