Note about Mayor Buckwheat and The Anderson Herald Bulletin

I received a call from Michael C. Casuscelli, publisher of the Anderson Herald Bulletin, today. I tried to call him back, but we seem to be playing phone-tag at the moment. (Maybe I'll try emailing him later...) In any case, I wanted to point out (for those of you who may have been confused) that Mayor Buckwheat is not officially affiliated with the Anderson Herald Bulletin.

There is a link to the HB forums at the beginning of most of his newsletters republished here, but (as it's written) it just points out that the character/person known as "Mayor Buckwheat" was "born" at the Anderson Herald Bulletin forums. That is, the user account (persona) was created at the Anderson HB forums. (Which is true...)

So, to make sure no one's confused - Mayor Buckwheat has nothing to do with the Anderson Herald Bulletin officially, but he does post there (quite frequently.) Sorry for any possible confusion. (Although, to be honest, I don't see how anybody could be confused by what I'd written...)

Beyond that, I just want to thank "Mayor Buckwheat" (and the No Fly Zone folks) for stepping up and voicing their opinion. As publisher of Anderson Free Press, and as a Journalist, I feel it's my duty to support people and their right to free speech, even if they feel they need to be anonymous to be able to talk about things going on in their town.

One more time for those who just skim - Mayor Buckwheat has no official affiliation with the Anderson Herald Bulletin. He does post on their forums, though.

I'm willing to talk about this issue with any AFP readers or the publisher of the Anderson Herald Bulletin (Michael C. Casuscelli) either here (publicly on this website preferred) or via email, phone, IM, IRC, telegrams or smoke signal.

Thanks for your time.

Your friendly and accessible publisher,
K. Paul Mallasch
