For some reason I can't
For some reason I can't access via the link "CC-Gal's blog" So I guess I'll just add to this.
After spending all day getting my living room a comfortable tempurature, I woke up about 6am this morning to the wind howling outside. Everytime there would be a strong gust of wind, the flame would brighten up in the kerosene heater. I thought to myself, that can't be good. Then I noticed, I could feel the wind blowing. My next thought was "man I don't want to take this Christmas money I have saved for the kids and go buy plastic to cover all the windows." I laid there for about a half an hour seriously getting upset that all the hard work at warming the front room had been a waste. I finally had to get up because nature was calling, and as I went into the hallway, I noticed I could see in the kitchen. I've not got enough windows to allow much in the way of outside light in there. The wind was blowing stronger too. So I went around to the utility room, lo and behold, the backdoor was standing wide open. Grrrrr, someone (me) hadn't shut the door tight last week when I had brought stuff back to the house from my daughters, and the wind blew it open. No one to blame but myself. It sure sucked getting the kids up and dressed for church this morning when it was so chilly, thanks to Mama not securing the house properly. Someone just shoot me.
The good news is you get to
The good news is you get to keep the money to spend on Christmas instead of plastic for the windows. Much better outcome.

This is one of those creative challenges life serves us. Sometimes it sucks.

No Bard, in reality, this is my life. If there were no hurdle to surmount every morning when I wake up, I would think I was still asleep and dreaming a good dream.
Hey, CC. I made some
Hey, CC. I made some changes to the blogs. They're invite-only now or you can ask for one. I want to keep them separate from the forums. Let me know if you have any questions.
Your whole post causes me to
Your whole post causes me to ask a question. If it's my blog, why do I need to invite myself to post on it?
Originally everyone had a
Originally everyone had a blog. I quickly realized, though, that some didn't understand the subtle difference I was going for between a blog and a forum post... somewhere in between the 'stories' and 'forums'... So, I made the decision (as publisher) to make blogs invite only. I didn't want to delete all the old blogs, though, so you have had a blog in the past, but there's a new user role (AFP Blogger) that has the privs needed to post a blog now.
All that said, this post, about your life, is a pretty good example of a blog. And I'm sure you're bright enough to recognize the difference between blogs and forums that I'm going for (eventually/hopefully bloggers will be able to edit (as in delete) comments from their blog they find inappropriate, etc. I want it (a blog) to be more personal than a forum?
In any case, congratulations, you're AFP's 3rd blogger ...please work with me on the difference between forums and blogs, though. Thanks.
Kpaul, perhaps the problem
Kpaul, perhaps the problem here is that people are allowed to post to blogs as though they were forums, and the blogger feels compelled to respond. It might be a matter of physical framing.
If you look at this Google blog as an example, you will see that responses are handled differently, and that makes the blog feel more like a river of personal experience and commentary rather than a tennis match: http://eclecticdem.blogspot.com/
I don't know how to accomplish that here. Sorry I am no computer guru.

Noted. Let me try to grok
Noted. Let me try to grok it a while longer.
The other problem might be that it's not spelled out anywhere - what I'm looking for - the difference between the areas on the site...
