Anderson Maps and Anderson Restaurant Reviews - BETA
You will need javascript to use this feature. And if I haven't in a while, let me urge you to download and install Firefox for a better (imho) browsing experience.
Also, I think eventually once we have most of the restaurants (for now) in the database, we'll turn off the add review and people can leave a 'review' as a comment to the review.
Still needs a lot of design work, but it's coming together, I think.

well, ok, the auto address to lat/long isn't working, it seems. so i'm trying to place the restaurants manually.
any volunteers to point out where i get it wrong? or i can teach you how to adjust the settings and give you the privs to help me create interactive maps for Anderson.

Also, any other uses you guys can think of for maps like this?
Is there a way to add a review of a place that is not already on the map?
It's a little cumbersome at this time, but yes, you can!
Click create content on the left then click on 'review' and fill out the information.
It doesn't automatically translate the address well, though, so there will be a map on the review submission page. Find the restaurant on that map and click it to place a marker.
Or you can let me know what restaurant(s) and I'll get them entered.

Hmmm, if you were a geocaching geek like myself or Medic you would have the proper tools to get those coords. I will grab some as I am around the area.
If I am looking at the map correctly, you are off a little on most of them. And is it me, or are the locations moving when you zoom the map? I'll check it again.
Following the launch early, launch often mantra, we now have a beta restaurant review system, complete with maps.
Will be changing a little, so add your ideas/suggestions below.
To get to them, note the new option in the main AFP menu:
As you can see if you hover over 'Maps' - Restaurant Reviews is the only option currently available.
Here's the deal, though. If you, the audience, supply me with data (think crime logs, etc.) with an address, I can (most likely!) tie it to a map. Garage sales next spring maybe? Crimes around Anderson via map? We have lots of options.
Starting, though, as I mentioned, we just have a map of restaurants (a few!) in Anderson. If you're a member you should now have a 'review' option when you click on create content. This will let you fill out a review for a restaurant. PLEASE check to see if we already have it before you add it.
Also, remember to click the 'localization' link near the top so you can add the address data and get it on the map.Notes:
