Need someone to help fill out the AFP events calendar. Anyone interested?
If this were a paid position, what do you think would be a fair price for entering the data? Would you want to be paid per event? Per hour? Feedback time.
In lieu of real payment, I could raise the points for submitting events for a while...
Thanks.

1. Where do the list of events come from, or are they just derived from being "all knowing?"
2. How "time consuming" is it? I mean, yeah I'm on the computer almost constantly during a normal week, but the last 2 weeks have been anything but normal...LOL. So I guess what I'm getting at is, could I work a double (11am-9 or so pm), come home, clean the house, feed the kids, put them to bed get my bath, and be able to bang a few out when all that is done (usually about 12 am) and still manage to get a couple hours' sleep before starting it all over again the next day? :)
3. How many points we talkin?

1) In the beginning, they would be culled from various sources online and rewritten/formatted, checked, etc. Most organizations *want* their info out there in as many places as possible. I can't count on all my fingers and toes the number of people who have told me over the years they have a difficult time getting the newspaper to work with their organization, whatever it might be.
So, I don't think we have to worry about copyright, especially if we reformat to an easier to use format...
In the second phase, we'll try to get the information from the groups themselves as we get put on their mailing lists for information.
2) As time consuming as you want it to be. Entering an event with location and categorizing it takes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes on average? Like the restaurant reviews map, though, the power of numbers is amazing. If everyone does one or two when they can (and if they want, you guys already do so much) we start to accumulate all that data in a central place where we can comment on it, track it, rate it, etc.
So yeah, doing one or two might be half hour at the most. I can even give you sites to collect the data from.
3) How many points should it be worth? (And also, I know I can't afford it now, but I am planning on paying someday and I want to get a firm idea of how much to pay for the task...)
