New Troopers at Pendleton Post

PENDLETON, IN - Four new Indiana State Troopers reported for duty at the Pendleton Post on December 31, 2007. The four graduated from the Indiana State Police academy on December 21, 2007. Lt. Mike Lepper, Commander of the Post, stated "The four new troopers are a welcome addition to the Post to further increase our total Indiana State Troopers on road patrol."

The new troopers have received approximately 840 hours of structured training in law enforcement techniques since the class began on July 14th. Their curriculum included 80 hours of criminal law instruction, 50 hours of vehicle operations training, 30 hours of psychology training, and 40 hours of "Survival Spanish."

New Pendleton Troopers

Matt Beaver graduated from Eastern Hancock High School and Anderson University. He will be residing in Greenfield and patrolling Hancock County.
Jeremy Mason graduated from Madison Grant High School and Ivy Tech College. He will be patrolling Madison County and residing in Summitville.
Jason Williamson graduated from New Prairie High School and Bethel College. He will be patrolling in Hamilton County and living in Carmel.
Richard Clay graduated from Blackford High School and Indiana Wesleyan University. He will be patrolling Madison County and residing in Ingalls.

The four troopers will participate in a 14 week Field Training Program where they will ride with a trooper trainer and apply the knowledge and skills learned at the academy in field situations. They will receive their patrol cars after successfully completing this program.
