How do you think it's going so far?

How can we improve?

What's most important over the next few months?

News coverage is definately the most important. And the biggest need for improvement. Need to give people a reason to come back. Just wait. One of these days kpaul will find something in the dumpster behind city hall, and we will take off like Drudge! =D

:)

Yeah. The very first year, when I had some money and a lot more energy, I went to a lot of events, handed out fliers, did some reporting, etc.

I'm going to start doing that more for Anderson. I need to pick it up again. Having a community here helps get me motivated, though.

Plus, if things keep going well, I'll be able to hire reporters... or at least one... ;)

Hang in there.

Thanks for the input, though. Anyone else?

Oh, also, I guess, what types of news stories - hard news? underreported news?

What I miss in the HB is investigative reporting. That's for later, though. I'd say don't forget features and photos and news.

Yeah, investigative reporting (done right) is expensive and a long term thing most likely (unless something falls in our lap...)

I'm a big supporter of so called immersive (?) journalism ...

heh. indeed.

i try not to get too caught up in the words that try to define what's being done because to be honest, it's still happening, still changing, still evolving.

anyway, i do think you can do immersive grassroots journalism. the grassroots (to me) is about the bottom-up approach to building this new media outlet in MadCo moreso than any particular approach to the craft...

There nothing more "grassroots"1 than gambling!  When will the AFP Bookie Site be up and running, KPaul?
