Tired of "business as usual" within Muncie City and Delaware County government? Ready for a change?
Here are some locations where you may sign petitions requesting reorganization of government. The petitions call for the creation of committees under IC 36-1.5 to study the overall structure and operation of our existing government and devise a plan (or plans) to reorganize, possibly consolidate and modernize our government--township, county, and city-wide.
By the way, your Delaware County Commissioners have already signed.
You must be registered to vote in Delaware County.

"So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was." - Molly Ivins, 1944-2007

I thought this might be of interest to the MadCo folks.
It is, I never knew muncie
It is, I never knew muncie had an Army surplus store?! :D
In all honesty, does the petition just call for a comittee to look into doing something about it? Or actually doing something about it? We can make comittiees all day long, doesn't mean anything will change.
Not sure. I agree with you,
Not sure. I agree with you, though. If they're looking at it, though, it's a start.

I'm not trying to be a cynic. Just a realist. It seems like a comittee always gives the perception of something happening, with out anything going on. It like those friends we have who can talk for two hours and not say a thing.
I just wish there was more information on this, I guess I could look up the IC code.
But what good is a comittie with out the authority to act?
Maybe try calling Chris
Maybe try calling Chris Hiatt or one of the other people to see what the deal is? Sorry I can't look into it more now...
Makes you wonder what
Makes you wonder what gives, if the county commissioners have already signed. Something's up...

It is indeed a sad state of union our union and state are in. Property Taxes are NOT Necessary, and they are in fact a way for our Homes to be "Held Hostage" by the state and federal Governments to keep us Economic Slaves to a system of spend and tax and still not be responsive to the Electorate.
