ANDERSON, IN - Anderson Fire Department (E-6, E-7, 20, L1, and Rescue) responded to a house fire in the area of 19th and Jefferson Street this morning. Unit 20 arrived at 9:16 a.m. and handed over the fire ground to fire investigators at 10:36 a.m.
No people were home, but with the help of Thermal Imaging Cameras, emergency personnel were able to locate two dogs in the room where the fire started. Both animals were taken by a neighbor to Northwood Emergency Clinic.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Note: Some material for this story was gathered from the January 2008 Scanner News thread.

Great work by all public
Great work by all public safety involved. Stay safe out there in this bitter cold.
The woman who this story
The woman who this story involves, works at McClure and has lost everything in that fire. The girl that works the evening shift has been taking up a collection to help her out, but tells me that they are desperately needing clothing for this woman. If anyone has anything they would like to donate, she wears a size extra large top and size 14 pants. Things can be dropped off at the McClure on Main street. By the way, both dogs were checked out at the vet, and they were released to the owner.

There are agencies here in town that help fire vics with clothing to furniture and a place in Indy we can send her to if she has transportation.
I wish we could find a bldg someone would like to donate here in town that we could have drives every so often to have things on hand for fire vics.
I know someone that you
I know someone that you might want to talk to. Who owns a building here in Anderson, and it's not really being used for anything. If they were to allow it to be used for charity, would it be a charity write off for them? I'm just wondering. Every incentive helps.
Just PM you to maybe get
Just PM you to maybe get your friend some help. There are ways if we really wanted to get involved we could possible get her place completely furnished. You just know how to beg well and use the media. That is what I did for a couple of years.
