I'm Freckles and I was recently rescued from a shelter on 01/18/08. My new foster parents are getting to know me and learning more and more about me each day I'm here. They are teaching me exciting new things, like what a leash is, how to sit and stay and something they call "manners". I have been crate trained as well and really do enjoy my crate, but I have lots of free time outside of it as well. It looks like there are other dogs here for me to play with and I'm going to slowing meet them all, but I had a bad case of kennel cough when I arrived and have been isolated from them so far.
There are some cats here too, and I'm very curious about them. I don't know if they like me or if I like them or even want to play with them yet. I will have to let you know about all that later. I weigh 45 pounds and I am approximately 1 year old and I am all puppy!!!
I'm not sure what breed of a dog I am, but we think I look like a Border Collie or maybe Australian Shepherd or a Spaniel mix.
I'm very friendly once I get to know you, but it is obvious that I did not have proper socialization as a young one. When meeting new people I might grumble for just a bit, but then I'm okay after that and all I want from you is your undivided attention. I am extremely sweet, loving and I like to cuddle, when I can settle down. I crave love and attention and just can't get enough.
I also have a lot of energy, so my new home will need a big fenced yard for me to go out and play and run. My foster parents recommend that I go to an obedience class right away with my new guardians.
Wanna go? Adoption donation is $200 and includes neuter, microchip, heartworm test which was negative, but needs retested in 6 months for accuracy, vaccines including boosters, rabies, lepto, bordetella, fecal test, current heartworm and flea prevention.

ANDERSON — Freckles, 9,(63 in people years), died Dec. 30, 2008, in his sleep at home.
He was born Sept. 14, 1999, to Lucky the Shepard and some Collie bitch.
He was a well mannered dog and had worked almost 2 trying to avoid accidents in the house and for the last 7 years had pooped in the neighbor's yard.
He was a member of dogs without testicle and enjoyed barking at shadows.
Surviving are one litter of mutts, Lucky Jr. of Noblesville Bruzer of Lapel. Also a sister, Sade of Middletown, and a special friend, Pete the mailman.
Services will be for family members only and burial will follow in the back yard.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Crotch-Sniffers Anonymous or the Canine 'PLEASE do NOT Neuter Your Pets' Campaign.
Speaking of the CSA, I'm glad the Makers of the Swatch weren't from Croatia. ;)
Seriously, I know what Sfan is saying. This is a good idea/section for AFP, but I don't have time to maintain it properly and the rescue people won't give me easy / automated access to their data like Walmart does (which is why i can automate that...)

Countryside used to get dogs from the dog pound for 5/10 dollars and then charge people for adaption of 100.0/200.00dollars. Granted Freckles is a cute dog but don't make a living in the name of animal rescue.

I'm not very friendly but I'll act like I like you so you adopt me...but it's a scam to gain yor trust. It's obvious that I did not have proper social skills and it ain't going to happen either. When meeting new people I might grumble for just a bit and then I go for the throat but then I'm okay for a while and might take a nap. I want your undivided attention or I'll kill you too.
