Madison County native Jon Goehring has set his sights on becoming the next judge of Madison County Court Division I.
"I always knew I could accomplish any goal I set for myself through
hard work and the support of this community," the father of two said
Friday.
Goerhing, a 31 year-old native of Madison County, graduated from
Highland High School in 1994. In 2003 he graduated second in his class
at Indiana University School of law. He then returned to his hometown
to practice law.
Currently, he is a Deputy Prosecutor and the assistant City attorney
for Anderson. Goerhing said that as a father he felt motivated to
become the next judge of the Madison County Court Division I because of
his concern for the youth of Madison County. He felt that Court should
serve the best interest of the people of Madison County, he said.
"I want that for my children and their peers as well," he said.
Goehring was admitted to the bar in 2003, and said that he had specific
ideas about making the court, more accessible to public. He is
especially keen and making drug court a more viable option.
"I want to make drug court more accessible by making it a night court so that people are able to work during the day," Goerhing said.
Goehring was admitted to practice law in Indiana in 2003.
