Meet Faith, she is approximately 1 year old and weighs around 40 pounds. She was rescued from the Animal Shelter, not just once but twice now. This little girl has had a pretty tough time so far, but you would never know it as she is such a wonderful well adjusted dog.
She is a very well behaved dog and has excellent manners. She knows how to sit, shake, down, stay and leave it. Faith is housebroken and crate trained and if you tell her to get in her crate when you leave the house she will go right to it. She loves her crate, so just leave the door open when you are home because she may just want to go in there and hang out or take a nap.
Faith loves to play including tug-of-war, fetch and will bring it back!! She likes to have a toy box for all of her toys so she can drag them all out around the house her foster mom said. She loves raw hide chews and hard bones, but she can't have soft toys as she will chew them up and shred them into pieces along with leaving out slippers, gloves, shoes, so don't leave anything out that she can't determine is not a doggie toy. She is just like a puppy in that regard, still in the chewing stage!!!
Currently, Faith is living with another larger dog (Lab 9 years old) and they get along just great although she would prefer to have a younger more active playmate.
Faith enjoys going for car rides and going bye-bye to get a McDonalds hamburger!!
She will also entertain you with her singing!! Yes, she will sing back to you "I love you" when you sing it to her!!! This is very cute and you will see this dog has so much personality and someone took lots of time with her to make her the dog she is today!!!
She is a cuddle bug and loves to snuggle with you and of course wants to sleep with you in bed at night. Faith has turned into a wonderful dog and plays very well with children of all ages. She was introduced to one cat and did chase after it, so were not sure if she would learn to do okay with cats or if she should be in a home without cats.
She is a fast learner as you can see by all her accomplishments mentioned above, so learning manners with cats is probably not an issue for her.
Currently in her foster home she does not have a fenced in yard, but it would be very nice in her new forever home so she could get lots of exercise and play with another dog.
Let us remind you how smart she is, she can open a gate and get out, so you will need to lock the gate and make sure your fence is tall enough that she can't get over.
She does not like the cold weather so right now she would only want to go out for quick potty breaks or for a nice long walk with a sweater on of course. Last but not least, she is a very good watch dog and will let you know when someone is around!!!
Faith has an adoption donation of $200 and that will include a dog that is spayed, heartworm tested and current on prevention, current vaccines including rabies, bordetella and lepto, fecal tested, microchip, current on flea prevention and a great dog. If you are interested in being Faith's forever guardian, please fill out an adoption application on our website at www.countrysideanimalrescue.org to meet this precious little girl!!!
