Economists can’t seem to decide whether or not the U.S. economy is technically in a recession. However, in January the U.S. lost 17,000 jobs, the stock market continues to drop, and mortgage foreclosures are at an all-time high. If we are not in a recession now, we are surely not far from being there. This means that the economy, not Iraq and national security, will be the main issue on which this presidential election will swing.
