United Way Campaign Makes Final Push

MADISON COUNTY, IN - With six weeks remaining, the United Way of Madison County reports $289,983 in pledges to date – nearly 30% of the $1 million goal announced last August.

“Many workplace campaigns are still in progress and some are just beginning,” stated Nancy Vaughan, president. “However, despite broad contact efforts by our volunteers to local businesses and individuals, pledges outside the workplace campaigns are behind where we would like to be.”

Acknowledging that the national economic climate is the likely factor in hesitation by both businesses and individuals to pledge, Vaughan encourages giving whatever is possible.

The 1st annual United Way/Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic in July raised nearly $25,000 for both organizations with a record number of participants. The auction in October, held in conjunction with Hoosier Park’s Indiana Derby –raised $10,175.

Early campaigns have also reported significant increases in giving- United Parcel Service employees saw a 20% increase in employee giving over last year. In addition, Hoosier Park Racing Casino donated $25,000 to the campaign in early June at its grand opening. The Herald Bulletin has donated advertising support to the LIVE UNITED campaign, doubled its corporate donation and has seen a 32% increase in employee giving. Community Hospital Anderson saw employee participation increase by 3% and added an online auction to the workplace campaign which generated $3,500.

New givers to the campaign will want to know that they can double the impact of their gifts because Madison County is receiving support this year from a grant through the Indiana Association of United Ways funded by Lilly Endowment. The grant will award to Madison County up to $170,000 to match new and increased donations received by December 31, 2009. The match is dollar-for-dollar for any individual or organization that increases giving, makes a new donation or pledges support to the Born Learning or CAN strategies.

“It’s important to have as many pledges in as possible by the end of November, because the board must approve a community support budget early in 2009, which will determine how much funding will be awarded to certified agencies’ programs and to the Born Learning and Community Access Network (CAN) strategies,” she said. The 2008 fall fundraising campaign totals and projections will be reported at the Tuesday, December 16 report meeting at Anderson County Club.

Donors can also take part in a “STEP-UP” opportunity, which allows individuals to pledge a three-year leadership giving commitment to the campaign. Madison Way recognition will be awarded for a donation of $350 in the first year, $650 in the second and $1,000 by the third year. Other leadership levels include Active Community Investor at $150 in year one, $300 in year two and $500 by year three. A new “Emerging Leader” giving level has been added for new donors under 40 years of age that give $50 in year one, $100 in year two and $200 by year three. A volunteer commitment is also requested of “Emerging Leaders.”

Pledges may be made directly to United Way of Madison County by calling 765-643-7493 or donate by visiting the United Way‘s web site at unitedwaymadisonco.org. United Way of Madison County supports human services throughout Madison County, Indiana and is governed by a 24 member volunteer board of directors. The organization has been a member in good standing of United Way of America since 1973.

October 2008 Anderson Indiana Scanner News

"The press is the best instrument for enlightening the mind of man ,
and improving him as rational , moral and social being " . Thomas
Jefferson

To be honest I hope that October is not a busy month for local law
enforcement or the fire and ambulance crews . I say that because every
time we report something here it means that some type of incident , a
fire , an auto accident , a domestic dispute etc.,is changing someone's
life in a negative way . That being said these things will continue to
happen and AFP will be here to report them in this scanner thread ,
live , as they occur, to keep you up to date with what is going on in
our community .

Indiana State Police Labor Day Patrols

PENDLETON, IN - Lieutenant Clint Bundy, Commander of the Pendleton Post, asked every motorist to do their part to make our roadways safe during this upcoming holiday weekend. During the Labor Day Holiday last year 11 motorists were killed in crashes in Indiana.

To help ensure the safety of everyone during this holiday period, Indiana State Police will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) and Operation Pull Over from Friday, August 29, through Monday, September 1.

To conduct these special traffic safety initiatives, over 150 additional troopers will be patrolling area roadways in marked and unmarked patrol vehicles. Troopers will be specifically looking for drivers who are drinking and driving, speeding, following too closely, and driving aggressively.

Troopers will aggressively enforce all seat belt and child restraint violations. Motor Carrier Inspectors and troopers trained to enforce the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations will also be working during the holiday period with their focus being on commercial motor vehicle violations.

Indiana State Police encourage all motorists to observe the following safety tips:

Make sure you are well rested before traveling.

Make sure everyone is buckled up.

Motorists should be buckled up in all vehicles. (Front and Back Seats)

Don’t tailgate. Remember the two-second rule when following other vehicles.

Obey all traffic signals and speed limits.

Don’t drink and drive.

The Indiana State Police would like everyone to remember that driving comes with important responsibilities to yourself, to your passengers, and to other drivers.

Mad County Election System Cover Up

email reply

Madison County (City of Anderson) Indiana also has the ES&S and the M650.
The election system here is corrupted.
A cover up by officials is how they are taking care of it.
Commissioners ignore public.
County Council rejected idea of any oversight. What happens behind closed doors will stay a secret.
County Judge made this county anti recount.
Election board hides problem reports and tells public no problem. Poll workers told not to report irregularities.
Voter registration official used intimidation to withhold info.
Access to public records blocked.

Their actions show they are guilty.
'- - - -
missed one. Complaints by voters are ignored at local and state level.

‘- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
email from Rady

“SysTest Labs, one of two federal testing labs responsible for certifying our nation's voting systems, is under investigation for failing to document or validate its test methods. The lab is also accused of using unqualified personnel to run these highly technical tests. Emails from the lab indicate possible collusion with another voting system vendor, ES&S, whereby SysTest's "test approach takes into consideration" actions that will "ensure certification" of the M650 . . . . . . . .”
Mad County election cover up

Mad County election cover up.

Problem reports gone. Reports that recorded irregularities transferred and have disappeared from public access.
But against the wishes of local officials, copies of a 2007 election were made. Records show bad things have happened. The type of vote counting irregularities that will continue to occur.
Telling the public there are no such problems and hiding the info says those controlling the count are GUILTY.

To protect the guilty, NO independent, audits, NO verifiable testing of voting system will be allowed, and NO public access to public records. (confirmed by Clerk Office)

But don’t worry, those in charge of election results are doing what they believe is best for you stupid voters.

By Al Jordan

ELWOOD, IN - It was reported on the scanner that Plastech caught on fire early this morning (July 14,2008) a little after 7 a.m. At the writing of this article, the plant is still burning so please stay away from the area and give the departments the room they need to fight it. Thanks.

UPDATE: 9:12 am - It was just called in on the scanner from Chief of Police Jack Miller that it is going to be an all day event. He has also asked the Mayor to declare a State of Emergency. The Mayor is headed to the scene. Again, Please stay away from the area!

UPDATE: 10:05 am - Several Firetrucks from different cities are lining up down State road 37 to keep the flow of water going. I added more Pics below.

More information and photos at Elwoodindiana.org

Unified Group Services Celebrates New Addition and Increased Employment

ANDERSON, IN - To celebrate its expansion, Unified Group Services (UGS) hosted a Ribbon Cutting and Open House at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23 at the East 67th Street location. Locally owned Fredericks, Inc. was the general contractor of the project which added 9,000 square feet to UGS’ existing 13,000 square foot facility.

Mayor Kris Ockomon announced, “This project represents not only a building investment of $850,000 but also fifteen new jobs with an additional 60 jobs anticipated within the next five years.” UGS is a third-party administrator that processes medical, dental, and vision claims for self-funded group healthcare plans, and presently employs 100 in the Anderson facility.

The privately owned, 12-year old company offers employee benefit plan administration to nearly 120 employer groups throughout the Midwest. President Richard L. Mousty believes personal contact, in an industry that thrives on automated attendants, is the driving force behind the company’s steady growth.

“We like to conduct modern business in an old fashioned way, with the personal touch of receptionists answering the phones, and a dedicated account manager for each client. I am personally involved in the day-to-day activities of our company and every client we have knows that they can call and personally speak to me. We believe that personal touch gives us an edge over our competition.”

Unified Group Services was ranked as the “4th Largest Indianapolis Area Employee Benefits Services Firm” in 2006, 2007 and 2008 by the Indiana Business Journal. UGS was also listed by IBJ as one of the “Fastest Growing Indianapolis Area Private Company” for 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004

Program Set for Symphony at Shadyside

ANDERSON, IN - The City of Anderson Department of Parks and Recreation will host the community on Sunday, June 29 at 8pm for an evening filled with the sound of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra and the sight of the city-sponsored fireworks display.

George Vinson, director of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra, outlined the musical program for the evening, saying, “The music chosen for the evening includes both popular and patriotic selections. The music will cover a spectrum spanning ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ selections from ‘Wicked’ and the ‘1812 Overture.’ There is definitely something for everyone.” ASO's principal trombonist, John Huntoon, will be featured soloist for ‘Georgia On My Mind’, written by Indiana native, Hoagy Carmichael. Veterans of all five branches of the military will be honored and invited to stand during the playing of their official song, according to ASO conductor, Rick Sowers.

In addition to the performance of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra, the evening will include a raffle for a Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe (musical selection: “Leader of the Pack”) and, of course, the traditional fireworks display. Fred Reese, Superintendent of Anderson Parks and Recreation commented, “The evening will be filled with festivities, yet the most important aspect involves gathering together with friends and family, sharing the experience and pausing to remember the meaning of Independence Day with them.”

Thanks in large part to title sponsor Community Hospital Anderson, the Symphony at Shadyside is free and open to the public. Dr. Bill VanNess, president/CEO of Community Anderson, said, “We are happy to sponsor this great local event. This is a year when many citizens are expected to enjoy events close to home, and this is one of the best in the Anderson area.”

Drawing more than 4000 patrons, the Symphony at Shadyside is the top single day event for Anderson Parks and Recreation. Other events scheduled for Shadyside Park this summer include a free outdoor concert series and an outdoor movie series. Citizens are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, as well as picnics, although there will be concessions available in the park.

The Paramount Theatre will be used as an alternative location in case of rain. Any decision to use the alternate location will be publicized on WQME, 98.7 FM.

A full listing of park events is available in the Parks and Recreation event guide, available at locations throughout the city, or by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 648-6850. Communitywide events can be viewed at www.CityofAnderson.com

How to rig elections

Election Corruption – Absentee Ballots

“The right chemical and a paper towel enables an insider to alter ballots to flip votes on paper ballots.” By changing mail-in votes, a recount would not show changed votes. The current “audit” process will not detect this type of rigged election.

BALLOT WASHING:

“Archivists know this technique as a document repair method, criminals know it as "check washing." If you have the right chemicals, can you remove votes from ballots, allowing election-riggers to "re-vote" the ballots before they are counted, recounted, or audited?”

BBB, Yes, it has been done. “We have been able to remove votes marked in ink from ballots without leaving a trace. Using this technique, insiders can alter votes on ballots.”

Materials needed are common solvents. Details are now posted. Be it blue or black ball point pen can be removed easily with denatured alcohol. Also info on changing votes made with other pens such as sharpies and "PERMANENT" markers included. With a plastic applicator bottle and a few paper towels it is easy and quick to change votes.

The where and when is covered in another topic called "chain of custody".

- - - - - - - - - -
In Madison County, the vote counting process has been declared a SECRET in violation of state law. With all the irregularities with election results, could one of those secrets be ballot washing???

Political Ethics – Madison County

Both parties have corrupted the election system by design.

Republican moral values justify deception and changing election results. And violations of election laws are ignored when Republicans are guilty of the dirty deed. In Madison County, the not so popular failed R policies will live on with the help of Democrats. So voting by party is not relevant.

Democratic leaders have turned to the dark side, the Republicans.
Dem Chairman McNabney and also a lawyer went Republican with passion. Gee, think this might be a conflict of interest. In the Bibbs recount case. As D party Chairman, he did NOT provide the correct admin legal support in getting papers filed. Bibbs told papers were filed correctly. McNabney who was paid by the county, not the party, then went against Bibbs at hearing. Dem chairman turned anti Dem candidate in public.

Bibbs was not the only candidate to be intimidated for questioning the election. Plus others not in politics. So this is not just about Bibbs.

But there is a bigger issue. The corrupted election system in Madison County. There has been a info lockdown and officials are following the Republican position of be silent. But what do they think they are hiding??? (Maybe the puppet masters know and the few who made copies.)

At a County Council meet, Bostic exposed this. In rejection of oversight/accountability on election system, he revealed this. What they do behind closed doors will stay a secret.
State law on oversight will not be followed.

A question that will NOT be answered is this.
What favors are the Dem leaders getting to support the Republicans???

Without a full disclosure, can the voter trust a party???
