MIAMI COUNTY, IN - Today, at approximately 11:23 a.m., Indiana State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on County Road 800 South east of County Road 200 West that injured three Miami County teens.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita announced today that so far in 2008, more than a half million Hoosiers have either registered to vote for the first time or updated their existing voter registration records. The total number of eligible voters registered in Indiana is now nearly 4.4 million with six weeks remaining until the October 6 voter registration deadline.

State Police Arrest Two for Vehicle Theft near Pendleton
PENDLETON, IN - Today at 7:30 a.m., Indiana State Police Sergeant Raymond Poole stopped to check on a disabled vehicle on Interstate 69 near the Pendleton Exit. The occupants of the vehicle advised Sergeant Poole they were having engine problems.
A check of their license plate revealed that the vehicle had been stolen out of the Indianapolis area sometime last night. The vehicle reported stolen was a 1994 Ford.
Sergeant Poole arrested the two occupants without incident. They were transported to the Madison County Jail and incarcerated.
SAT scores flat in Indiana, nationwide

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - SAT results released today revealed that scores for the high school class of 2008 remained relatively flat both nationally and in Indiana compared to a year ago. Indiana’s average score on the college entrance exam showed a one-point gain in math (508), a one-point drop in reading (496) and a two-point decrease in writing (481) for a combined score of 1485 (1487 in 2007). Nationally, average scores remained unchanged across the board in math (515), reading (502) and writing (494) for a combined score of 1511.
Victim of Early Morning East Side Crash Identified
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The driver and sole occupant of the 2003 Ford Mustang involved in the three vehicle crash shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning has been identified as Amber Hurst, 22, of Greenfield, Indiana and her immediate family has been notified. The crash occurred on southbound I-465 near the 40 mile marker on the east side of Indianapolis and involved Hurst's Mustang and two semi-tractor trailers.
State Health Department Releases Medical Error Report
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Indiana State Department of Health today released the annual report of the Medical Error Reporting System (MERS), which includes reported events for calendar year 2007. The report is designed to provide reliable data on medical errors and improve patient safety. According to the data, 105 medical errors were reported for 2007 with 101 events occurring at hospitals and 4 events occurring at ambulatory surgery centers.

The organizations new name, American Advertising Federation East Central Indiana was adopted by the board to better align itself with AAF—the American Advertising Federation headquartered in Washington D.C. On August 7, 2008 at a membership meeting, the board’s proposal to change the name was presented and the vote was unanimous to make the change.
Rochester Man Arrested After Fleeing Trooper
WABASH COUNTY, IN - Friday, August 22, 2008, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Donald Raymond Lewis, 52, of Rochester, IN, was arrested by Indiana State Trooper Cicely Gasvoda after he tried to flee, on foot, from a traffic stop on U.S. 24 near County Road 700 West. He was incarcerated in the Wabash County Jail to face misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, false informing, and driving with a suspended operator’s license. His bond is set at $11,000.

PERU, IN - Lieutenant Matt Bilkey, district commander of the Indiana State Police Peru Post, and Colonel Rick Weigand, assistant superintendent of the Indiana State Police, recently recognized Master Trooper Paul Daugherty of Miami County for excellent shooting while qualifying with his issued state police handgun. Daugherty was issued his Possible Club Award pin during a meeting of the Indiana State Police at the Peru Post. The pin will be attached to a whistle chain and worn near the right shoulder area of the state police uniform.
